( Roasted turkey.)
Turkey is tradition food that American and many Khmer Krom-Americans like to eat on Thanksgiving Day. Back home, most Khmer Krom have never taste turkey. This slow roasted turkey recipe is tender, moist and delicious.
- Ingredients :
- 1 Turkey approx 15 lbs
- 2 Tablespoons butter
- 4 Tablespoons soy sauce
- 4 Cloves garlic, minced
- ½ Teaspoon salt
- ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
- 1 Canned chicken broth
- Procedures :
Removes neck, organs from turkey. Rinses turkey under cold water and pats dry turkey with paper towels. Tut turkey in a large roasted pan and rubs butter all over turkey.
In a small bowl, mix soy sauce with garlic, salt and black pepper, mix well. Rubs sauce inside turkey’s cavity and all over turkey. Put turkey neck and organs back in side it cavity. Pour chicken broth on bottom of roasted pan and covered turkey with aluminum foil.
Bake turkey in the oven at 300 degrees for 5 hours or till it cooked. Removed foil, basted turkey with it liquid and increased oven temperature to 375. Continue to roasted turkey till it skin turns golden brown.
Serve hot or warm with your favorite trimming.
