Trey ang nung poat parang.
(Grilled fish and okra. )
Grilled fish with grilled okra and sweet fish sauce is very tasty Khmer Krom country food. Back home, most people prefers Asian catfish *trey naing* and pickle fish sauce *tirk pahok* over sweet fish sauce * tirk trey chu p'em.
For this recipe I used trout but any fresh water fish or any your favorite fish is fine.
- Ingredients :
- 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1 Stalk green onion, chopped
- 1 Whole fresh trout, 1 lb, cleaned and pats dry with paper towel
- ˝-1 lb Fresh okra
- Procedures :
Pre-heat a small sauce-pan, when it hot add oil and green onion, sauté green onion till soften, remove from heat and set it a side.
Put fish in a fish grill holder, cook it on hot grill, put okra on the grill with fish.
Grill fish for 10 to 15 minutes on each side, or till both sides crispy and golden brown.
Okra done when fish done.
Put grilled fish and grilled okra on a large serving plate, add onion oil on top.
Serve hot with rice and sweet fish sauce *tirk trey chu-p’em* or with pickle fish sauce *tirk pahok*.
