Thin slices of Asian ham *xa-xiu* with crusty French bread is one of the most popular sandwiches in Kampuchea Krom.
To make this sandwich, you’ll need to make ahead these two recipes:Sach chrouk char chiu(*Xa-Xiu* Roasted pork), and chrout carrot ( carrot with daikon relish.)
- Ingredients :
- 4 Loaves( sandwich size) French bread
- Butter or margarine( to spreads)
- Mayonnaise (to spreads)
- 1 Cucumber, peeled, seeded and slices thin long strips
- A handful fresh cilantro (option)
- Sliced hot chili pepper (option)
- Black pepper
- Soy sauce(option)
- Procedures :
Slice thinly prepared roasted pork, set a side.
If you prefer hot sandwich: Pre-heat oven at 400, slit French bread open before put inside oven, heat it up for 3 minutes or till outside is crusty. Removed bread from oven, spreads butter or margarine and mayonnaise on the open loaf of bread.
Add some
roasted pork , chili pepper, cucumber, some relish , and cilantro.
Sprinkles with some soy sauce and black pepper before serve.
