Khmer Krom usually cooks this soup with left over roasted meat or bones. Mustard green soup with roasted meat is delicious way to make the most out of the pricey, left over roasted meat. You can make mustard green soup with just roasted pork, duck or chicken, or combination of all the roasted meats like I did. This is one of the most easy Khmer recipes.
- Ingredients :
- 1 Canned chicken broth or 2 cups homemade chicken broth
- 2 Cups water
- ½ to 1 lb Left over roasted pork, duck or chicken
- 1 lb mustard green , cut 2 inches in length
- 2 Tablespoons fish sauce
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
- 2 Stalks green onion, chopped
- Procedures :
Put chicken broth, water and roasted meat in a soup pot and cook till water bubbling.
Add mustar green, stirs and cook till water bubbling again.
Seasoning with fish sauce, sugar and black pepper.
Top with green onion.
Serve hot with rice.
