( Gingery tofu with soybean paste. )
Khmer Krom vegetarian caramelized tofu with soybean paste, mushroom and gingery sauce is absolutely delicious.
- 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
- 2 Pieces firm tofu
- ¼ Cup julienne fresh ginger root
- 1 Tablespoon soy bean paste
- 1 Tablespoon mushroom sauce
- 1 Cup water
- 2 Stalks green onion. Chopped.
- ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
- Procedures :
Pre heat a skillet or wok. When wok is hot, add oil and pan fry tofu till both sides light brown. Removed fried tofu from heat and cut to chunks bite sizes.
In a small pot, put fried tofu, ginger, soy bean paste, mushroom sauce and water together. Simmering till sauce reduce,
add chopped onion and black pepper.
Serve hot with rice along with fresh hot chili pepper or Sambal Olekek chili paste.
