Sach chrouk char s’det .
(Stir-fry snow peas with pork.)
Snow peas are very good source of vitamins and protein, and it can be eaten raw.
Tender sliced pork with crisp snow peas is very easy and delicious Khmer Krom common food. I used lean pork meat for this recipe but most Khmer Krom prefers stir-fry snow peas with pork belly(sach chrouk bei choen).
- Ingredients :
- 1 Cup water
- 1 Tablespoon corn starch
- 1 Tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
- ½ Tablespoon sugar
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 Cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Yellow onion, sliced
- ½ lb Lean pork meat or pork belly, sliced thin
- ¼ Teaspoon salt
- ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
- ½ lb Snow peas , cut tips off, washed and drained
- 1 Red bell pepper, removed seeds and sliced
- 2 Stalks green onion, cut and inch in length
- Procedures :
In a small bowl, mix water with cornstarch, oyster sauce, soy sauce and sugar together, set a side.
Pre-heat a skillet or wok.
When skillet is hot, add oil, garlic, yellow onion and pork meat stirs.
Add salt and black pepper, stirs and cook till meat tender.
Add snow peas, bell pepper and green onion, stirs well.
Pour prepared sauce and stirs till sauce thicken.
Do not over cook snow peas.
Serve hot with rice.
