Sach ko char spee.
(Beef with cabbage stir-fry.)
Stir-fry beef with carrot, cabbage and gingery sauce is quick, easy and absolutely delicious Khmer food.
- Ingredients :
- ½ Cup water
- 1 Tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
- ½ Tablespoon fish sauce
- ½ Tablespoon sugar
- ½ lb Sirloin beef, sliced thin
- 1 Tablespoon oyster sauce
- ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 2 Cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Tablespoon grated ginger root
- ½ Head of cabbage, chopped
- 1 Large carrot, peeled and sliced thin
- 3 Stalks green onion, chopped
- Procedures :
In a small bowl, mix water with cornstarch, soy sauce, fish sauce and sugar, mix well and set it a side.
In a large bowl, marinate beef with oyster sauce and black pepper, set a side.
Pre-heat a skillet or wok with high temperature.
When skillet is hot, add oil, garlic, ginger, cabbage and carrot,stirs and covered skillet with lid for couple minutes.
Removed lid, add marinated beef and stirs well till meat done.
Seasoning with prepared cornstarch sauce and green onion, stirs till sauce thicken.
Serve hot with rice.
