(Sticky rice with Cornish hen.)
Authentic Khmer Krom recipe cooked with birds, but you can substitutes with either Cornish hen or chicken. Crispy fried Cornish hen with sticky rice is delicious.
- Ingredients :
- 2 Cups un cooked Jasmine sweet sticky rice, rinsed
- 2 Cups chicken broth
- 1 Cornish hen, cleaned and cut in half
- 2 Cloves garlic, minced
- 2 Tablespoon soy sauce
- ½ Teaspoon salt
- ½ Teaspoon black pepper
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- Procedures :
Cook rice with chicken broth in automatic rice cooker or cook rice over the stove, when rice tender, keep it warm.
In a small bow, mix garlic with soy sauce, salt and black pepper, mix well, rubs sauce all over Cornish hen, marinated at least 4 hours.
Pre heat a skillet or wok with high temperature.
When skillet is hot, add oil and put Cornish hen in, pan-fry it in low temperature till Cornish hen crispy.
Serve hot with stick rice, boiled/steamed vegetables and
daikon and carrot relishes, or
tomato and cucumber relishes, or with
ginger cabbage salad.
