( Stir-fry jicima with chicken.)
In Kampuchea Krom you can find street vendors with fresh jicima and chili salt. Jicima is one of the crisp, sweet vegetables that very delicious either raw or cook. There are many wonderful Khmer Krom recipes with jicima such as this mouth watering stir-fry jicima with chicken.
- Ingredients :
- ½ Cup water
- ½ Tablespoon cornstarch
- ½ Tablespoon fish sauce
- 1 Tablespoon soy sauce
- ½ Tablespoon oyster sauce
- 1 Teaspoon sugar
- 2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 Clove garlic, minced
- ½ lb Boneless chicken meat, sliced thin
- 1 lb Jicima, peeled and julienned
- 2 Stalks green onion, chopped
- ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
- Procedures :
In a small bowl, mix water with cornstarch, fish sauce, soy sauce, oyster sauce and sugar together, set a side.
Heat up a skillet or wok on the stove with medium high temperature.
When skillet hot add cooking oil, garlic and chicken, stirs till meat tender.
Add jicima and green onion, stirs well.
Seasoning with prepared sauce and black pepper, stirs well till sauce thicken.
Serve hot with rice.
