My home town *Karmourn Sor* Rach Gia province not only world famous for seafood export, salt and fish sauce, but it also famous for honey. During the Khmer Empire, when the Chinese merchants came to Kampuchea Krom (lower Cambodia), they discovered and like the great taste of honey. The Chinese merchants would traveled great distant to *Karmourn Sor* just to buy honey to take back China. The name *Karmourn Sor* meaning pure white wax of honey, land of many delicious authentic Khmer Krom recipes such as this mouth watering grilled chicken with honey.
- Ingredients :
- 1 Tablespoon honey
- 2 Tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 Tablespoon Khmer rice wine "tapae" (option)
- 2 Cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Stalk green onion, minced
- ¼ Teaspoon salt
- ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
- 1 Tablespoon cooking oil
- 1 lb Chicken breast
- Procedures :
In a small bowl. mix honey with soy sauce, *tapae* rice wine, garlic, onion, salt, black pepper and oil, mix well.
Put chicken meat in a large bowl or container, rubs prepared honey sauce on both sides chicken meats, covered container with lid and refrigerated over night or at least 4 hours.
Cook chicken breast on hot grill till both sides golden brown.
Serve hot with rice and tomato and cucumber relish.
