(Spicy sweet potato balls with pork.)
Spicy golden brown sweet potato balls with grounded pork is one of many delicious recipes from Khmer Krom in Prek Reussey (Can Tho) province.
- Ingredients :
- 2 Cups shredded sweet potato or yam
- 4 oz Grounded pork
- 1 Stalk green onion, minced
- ¼ Teaspoon salt
- ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
- ½ Teaspoon soy sauce
- ½ Teaspoon cayenne pepper (option)
- 3 Cups vegetable oil(for deep fry)
- Procedures :
In a small bowl, mix sweet potato with grounded pork, green onion, salt, black pepper, soy sauce and cayenne pepper, mix well.
Take some prepared sweet potato mixture, use your hands to form to a small ball, continue till done, set a side.
Pre heat oil in frying pan with high temperature.
When oil bubbling hot, turn down temperature to medium and drops sweet potato balls in to hot oil, not too many at a time, deep-fried till sweet potato balls golden brown.
Remove cooked sweet potato balls and put on paper towel to drain excessive oil.
Serve hot with lettuce, cucumber, and fresh mix herbs.
When eat, wraps a sweet potato ball in a lettuce leaf with cucumber and mix herbs, then dips in sweet fish sauce,
or if you like pahok dips with pickle fish sauce.
