(Deep fried shrimp)
Garlicky fried shrimp is very yummy appetizer. This Khmer Krom country recipe is orginal from *Karmourn Sor* Rach gia province.
- Ingredients :
- 1 lb Large shrimp, peeled but leave tails on
- 4 Cloves garlic, minced
- 1 Teaspoon soy sauce
- ¼ Teaspoon salt
- ¼ Teaspoon black pepper
- 1 Cup All purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoons corn starch
- 1 Cup cold water
- 4 Cups vegetable oil for fry shrimp
- Procedures :
In a small bowl, marinated shrimp with garlic, soy sauce, salt and black pepper, set a side.
In a large bowl, mix flour with corn starch and cold water together, mix well, put marinated shrimp in to batter, mix well, set a side.
Heat oil in a frying pan or wok with high temperature.
When oil is bubbling hot, drops shrimp in hot oil, deep-fry shrimp till it golden crispy, removed fried shrimp and put it in a plate covered with paper towel to drain excessive oil.
Serve hot or warm with rice or wraps it in lettuce, fresh herbs, noodles and dips in sweet fish sauce.
